Junior club season summary 2011

Banbridge Junior club entered eight teams in the Belfast and district juvenile league this year and enjoyed a successful campaign. Four teams finished third, two teams second and two teams winners in their respective leagues. The under 18 boysA team finished runners up, as did the under 14C boys. Our best success came from our under 18D boys who won their league and the under 14A boys who won their league and finished runners up in the knockout cup for the second year running. (Special mention to Peter Maxwell, Scott Armstrong and most improved player of the year, Robbie Scott, all part of last year’s and this year’s winning team).
The Junior club end of season tournament had their finals day on the last Saturday in June. A large turn out was concluded with Matthew McClune winning the under 18 boys title for the second year running and Becky Maxwell winning the girl’s equivalent in convincing fashion. Peter Maxwell won an extremely competitive under 14 boys event, with Eimear Downey winning the under 14 girls cup for the second successive time.
Coach Cyril McClune wishes to thank all the junior members and parents for their ongoing support and dedication during the season, and in particular the managers of the juvenile teams.
